Six people died of dengue across the country in the last 24 hours, bringing this year’s death toll to 195, according to a daily update from the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
During the same period, 2,158 new dengue patients were admitted to hospitals nationwide, the highest daily count recorded so far this year, said the update issued today (27 September).
The latest daily admissions surpassed the previous high of 1,872 cases recorded on 22 September.
Of the six deaths, one each was reported from Barishal, Chattagram, Dhaka Division and Dhaka South City Corporation, while two deaths were reported from Khulna Division.
Meanwhile, 1,755 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals during the same period, taking the total number of recoveries this year to 68,006.
The cumulative number of dengue cases reported across the country has now reached 73,694.
