MDMA, kush, cocaine, foreign liquor and THC-infused gummies recovered during overnight raid in Gazipur’s Pubail.

The Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) arrested four people and seized MDMA or ecstasy, kush, cocaine, foreign liquor and THC-infused gummies during a raid on a DJ party at a resort in Gazipur’s Pubail.
The raid was conducted at Pubail Resort Club in the Bhadun area from around 10pm on Friday (25 September) to 2:30am on Saturday (26 September), based on a tip-off, the DNC said.
The operation was led by DNC Dhaka Division Additional Director AKM Shawkat Islam, with members of several units of the agency taking part.
The DNC said the team recovered 21 pieces of MDMA or ecstasy, 24 grams of kush, 1 gram of cocaine, 3.75 litres of foreign liquor and 20 grams of “Strawbeery Drem Infused Gummies THC-A+D9+Live Resin”.
A digital video recorder (DVR) and four mobile phones were also seized during the operation.
The first phase of the raid was conducted at Tuberose Cottage, a two-room cottage located on the southern side of the resort’s lake.
Three people, Mohammad Moniruzzaman Tanzim, 29, Tushar Ahmed Nishu, 32, and Mahidul Islam Rahat, 28, were arrested from the cottage.
Based on information obtained from them, DNC officials later raided Gomti-1 Cottage on the northern side of the lake and arrested Kasfia Nishat, 25.
According to preliminary questioning, Tanzim, Tushar and Mahidul organised the event under the banner “SONIC PULSE”.
The DNC said it had found preliminary evidence that various synthetic drugs were being supplied to young people attending the event.
Resort authorities told DNC officials that Tanzim, Tushar and Mahidul had rented the venue for the event.
The DNC also said the organisers had not obtained permission from the local administration to hold the festival.
Md Emdadul Islam Mithun, deputy director of the DNC’s Gazipur district office, said drugs were being supplied among participants at the event.
“The four people have been arrested, and legal proceedings are underway against them under the Narcotics Control Act,” he said.
He added that a case was being prepared at the relevant police station under the Narcotics Control (Amendment) Act 2026.
