The woman, who accused Jay Z of sexual assault, has withdrawn her allegations against the rapper in a recent development in the lawsuit.
In a new court declaration submitted on Thursday, the accuser, named Jane Doe, said her claims were false, noting that her and Jay Z never crossed paths in the past.
She also revealed that she had shared her “mental health conditions” to her legal team before they publicly named the Grammy-winning rapper in her lawsuit in December 2024.
In the 12-page court document obtained by Rolling Stone, Jane wrote, “Shawn ‘Jay-Z’ Carter never raped me. I have never met or spoken to Mr. Carter. Mr. Carter never engaged in any inappropriate conduct toward me whatsoever.”
It continued, “There is no truth to any of my claims against Mr. Carter.
“I understand my false accusations have caused Mr. Carter immense pain, suffering, and damage that can never be fully undone.”
At the same time, the legal note revealed that Jay Z is also dropping his lawsuit against Jane.
For the unaware, Jay Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, had been suing the woman, her lawyer Tony Buzbee and his firm for making up the claims to blackmail him.
In her official statement, the woman clarified that she did not get paid any money and was not promised any rewards for writing it.
It is pertinent to mention that in 2024, Jane, along with her lawyer, accused the musician of raping her alongside Sean “Diddy” Combs after a 2000 MTV VMAs afterparty. As per the claims, the woman was 13 at the time.
