Mohammad Zahirul Islam Chowdhury has been re-elected chairman of Popular Life Insurance PLC.
He was re-elected at the company’s 297th board meeting, according to a press release.
Zahirul Islam Chowdhury was born in Chattogram on 4 July 1982. He holds a Bachelor of Information Technology degree from the University of Canberra in Australia.
He is the managing director of PHP Ship Breaking and Recycling Industries Ltd, PHP Spinning Mills Ltd, PHP Ispat Ltd and PHP Cotton Mills Ltd.
He also serves as a director of several other PHP Group companies, including PHP NOF Continuous Galvanizing Mills Ltd, PHP Integrated Steel Mills Ltd, PHP Steel Works Ltd, PHP Float Glass Industries Ltd, PHP Petro Refinery Ltd, PHP Agro Products Ltd, Dina Cold Storage Ltd, PHP Stocks and Securities Ltd, Bay Terminal and Distribution Company Ltd, PHP Fisheries Ltd, PHP Latex and Rubber Products Ltd, PHP Automobiles Ltd and PHP Motors Ltd.
