Simon Cowell’s back surgery took a risky turn.
According to Radar Online, Simon may undergo back surgery once again; however, concerns spark about possible paralysis, and the surgery may also not give relief from his chronic back pain, for which he is undergoing the procedure.
However, in 2020 simon had a severe electric bike accident in which he broke his back. At that time, he had to undergo surgery during which a metal rod was implanted in his back to support his spine.
Moreover, Simon himself spoke about the procedure in 2023, saying, “It was a lot worse than people thought,” and “I had a lot of long-term nerve damage as well.”
Now, as he is planning for another, a source revealed to the outlet that “Still, this news is scary as h— for the folks in Simon’s world.”
Adding, “It’s very clear that his back issues are far from resolved, and he is likely dealing with a lifelong problem.”
Showing concern, a health expert, Dr. Gabe Mirkin, added, “All back surgery carries significant risk.”
He went on to say, “After an accident, multiple areas can be damaged, and you may not know all the places that can cause trouble.”
The physician further warned that the surgery involves serious risks. “There is also a risk of paralysis. I don’t think the surgery itself will necessarily make the patient worse, although it can. You may chip away bone or put a spacer in to stop the bone from pressing on one nerve, and then it can press on another nerve.”
“After a serious trauma, back surgery has about a 50 percent failure rate,” he added further.
