The benchmark index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) plunged more than 100 points today (6 September) as heavy selling pressure weighed on the market.
The DSEX fell 103 points, or 1.83%, to close at 5,558, while the blue-chip DS30 index dropped 24 points to 2,116.
Market breadth was sharply negative, with 348 issues declining against just 20 advancing, while 21 remained unchanged.
Meanwhile, daily turnover fell 24% to Tk545 crore, signalling a significant slowdown in trading activity amid heightened selling pressure.
