Glen Powell will produce a remake of the 2012 Korean film Confession of Murder.
The Chad Powers actor and creator will produce the film with Dan Cohen through their Barnstorm company, alongside Winged Tiger’s Naomi Funabashi and Rishi Rajani.
According to Deadline, Chris MacBride is on board to write the script.
The original film starred Jung Jae-Yung and followed an investigation that took place after a suspected killer publishes a book detailing murders he cannot be tried for.
Powell and Cohen founded Barnstorm in 2025 and the company is currently in post-production on The Comeback King, starring Powell and directed by Judd Apatow.
Meanwhile, it was recently revealed that Glen Powell is set to portray baseball great Lou Gehrig in a new feature directed by Richard Linklater.
The movie will reunite the filmmaker and the actor for the third time as Universal Pictures brings to life one of America’s most celebrated sports figures on the big screen.
The new film will tell the story of Lou Gehrig, the Baseball Hall of Famer whose remarkable durability earned him the nickname “The Iron Horse.”
Lou played a then-record 2,130 consecutive Major League Baseball games before his career was cut short after he was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, the neurological disease that later became widely known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.
Powell will produce the film through Barnstorm with Dan Cohen, while Richard is in talks to produce through Detour Film production.
The screenplay has been written by Simon Rich, a former Saturday Night Live writer whose recent projects include Artificial, a drama centered on OpenAI chief executive Sam Altman.
The duo has also previously collaborated on Everybody Wants Some!! and the critically acclaimed Netflix comedy Hit Man, which the Top Gun: Maverick star also co-wrote and produced.
Glen Powell, whose profile has continued to rise following the success of Top Gun: Maverick, Anyone But You and Twisters, is also due to appear in J.J. Abrams’ forthcoming film The Great Beyond.
