Christine Taylor recently opened up about the demands she fulfilled for her role in The Brady Bunch movie.
For those unaware, Taylor played the role of Marcia Brady in the 1995 American comedy film loosely based on the television series created by Sherwood Schwartz. In addition to her, the film had an ensemble cast, including Shelley Long, Gary Cole, Paul Sutera, Christopher Knight, Michael McKean, and others.
The 55-year-old American actress illuminated the Office Ladies podcast with her presence this week, where she revealed that she was asked to gain some weight to play the iconic character.
She shared, “The one thing that I got, and I was not a super heavy person, but they asked me to lose 10 pounds.”
The Zoolander star went on to admit that it was “a very different time in the industry” and that something like that “would never happen today.”
Being an ardent fan of the satirical comedy, she always eyed to land a role in The Brady Bunch, which she did but “they wanted me to lose 10 pounds, but it didn’t matter. I was like, ‘I’ll lose 10 pounds.’” However, she was “embarrassed when that ask came” her way.
“Over the course of the movie, if you watch it very closely. I start to put 10 pounds back on, and you can see it. Like, I’ll come into a scene looking a little rounder, and then, like, I exit the scene looking a little thinner, just because of how they had to reshoot things,” Christine Taylor highlighted.
