Home Affairs Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Jahangir Alam Chowdhury today (4 February) said there is “no such thing as mob violence” in the country.
Speaking to reporters after a law and order coordination meeting at Rajshahi Prison Training Academy, Jahangir Alam noted that police are working without fear and the upcoming election will be peaceful.
He said that bringing any law enforcement violations by candidates or their representatives to public attention would discourage such actions.
The meeting was attended by senior officials, including the director generals of Border Guard Bangladesh, RAB, Ansar and VDP, Additional IGP Khondaker Rafiqul Islam, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs Nasimul Gani, and election officials from Rajshahi division.
