Two students were killed after a bus hit their motorcycle at a roundabout near the Bhanga Interchange in Faridpur today (27 August).
The deceased were identified as Kawsar Ahmed Ratul, 17, and Raju. Both were residents of Jandi village in the Tujarpur union of Bhanga upazila.
According to police and local sources, the two were travelling on the motorcycle towards the roundabout when a Golden Line bus hit them, leaving both seriously injured.
They were rescued and taken to Bhanga Upazila Health Complex, where they were pronounced dead, locals said.
Family members said Ratul’s parents had bought him a new motorcycle just three days ago.
His outing on the new motorcycle turned tragic, they said, as the accident left the two families and relatives mourning.
Bhanga Highway Police Officer-in-Charge said legal proceedings in connection with the accident are underway.
