Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) today (23 August) forecasted rain in different parts of the country in the next 24 hours, commencing at 9am.
“Light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty winds are likely to occur at many places over Mymensingh, Barishal, Chattogram & Sylhet divisions and at a few places over Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka & Khulna divisions,” said a Met Office bulletin issued this morning.
Besides, it said, moderately heavy to heavy falls may occur at places over the country.
Day and night temperatures may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
The highest temperature yesterday was 36.8 degrees Celsius in Ishurdi, while today’s minimum temperature is 23 degrees Celsius in Sylhet.
In the last 24 hours (till 6am today), the highest 33 millimetre rainfall occurred in Sylhet.
The sun sets at 6:25pm today and rises at 5:37am tomorrow in Dhaka.
