Hayden Panettiere’s on-and-off boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, broke his silence days after the Heroes actress’ tragic death at 36 on August 16.
Brian’s lawyer shared a statement to TMZ on Thursday, addressing Hayden’s death and his position so far in the police investigation.
Sloan Ellis, Brian’s attorney, said, “Hayden’s death remains under investigation, and it is important to allow that investigation to proceed. As has been publicly reported, police confirmed there were no signs of foul play.”
It is pertinent to mention that at the time of her death, Hayden was staying with Brian and his brother Zach Hickerson.
The lawyer added, “Out of respect for Hayden’s loved ones and the ongoing investigation, there will be no further comment at this time.”
“The GPD response is the same as in all death investigations. The Police Department works with the Coroner’s Office, receives its findings, reviews the facts and evidence and then decides if a criminal investigation is warranted. There were no signs of foul play during the initial response and investigation,” the statement concluded.
This came after Hayden’s mother, Lesley Vogel, pointed fingers at Brian two days after Hayden’s death.
Lesley, who was once Hayden’s manager, said in an interview with NBC News, “This person in her life that we have been trying to get rid of for quite some time was with her at her death and that was Brian Hickerson.”
