The three-day Chattogram Build Expo 2026 began in Chattogram today (20 August), bringing together businesses and professionals from the architecture, construction, real estate and infrastructure sectors.
Chattogram Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Engineer Belayet Hossain inaugurated the expo at Radisson Blu, a five-star hotel in the city.
The Bangladesh Institute of Architects (IAB) Chattogram Chapter is organising the expo for the first time in the port city.
At the inauguration, Belayet Hossain stressed the need for coordinated efforts among all stakeholders to ensure sustainable and planned urban development.
“Planning alone is not enough to implement sustainable development and planned urbanisation. All stakeholders involved must work together in a coordinated manner,” he said.
He also stressed the importance of modern technology, environmentally friendly construction methods and long-term planning in architecture, construction and infrastructure development.
He urged stakeholders to play a responsible role in preventing unplanned development in Chattogram.
Belayet Hossain said events such as the Chattogram Build Expo would create opportunities for professionals and businesses in the sector to exchange knowledge, technology and experience.
Architect Md Mizanur Rahman, convener of the expo, said the event aims to showcase recent opportunities, innovations and technologies in the architecture, construction, real estate and infrastructure sectors while creating opportunities for networking and discussions among professionals and stakeholders.
The expo features 30 companies from Dhaka and Chattogram. Alongside product and service displays, it includes brand activations, business networking and seminars and discussions with industry experts.
The expo will continue until 22 August and is open to visitors.
