Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has detained 14 Myanmar nationals after they illegally entered Bangladesh through the Myanmar border in Bandarban’s Alikadam upazila.
According to a press release issued on Tuesday (18 August), signed by Alikadam Battalion (57 BGB) Captain Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Al Mehedi, the 14 men of various ages arrived at the Killaypara checkpost on Monday (17 August) and voluntarily surrendered to border guards.
They were subsequently taken into BGB custody and brought to the Alikadam battalion headquarters.

Authorities are taking legal action against them for illegal entry, violations of the Foreigners Act, government directives, and border control regulations. They were handed over to Alikadam police yesterday (19 August).
Alikadam Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md Alamgir Hossain Shah confirmed that the BGB handed over the 14 Myanmar nationals to the police station and that they would be produced before the court.
