Visa’s Regional President Karpin arrives in Bangladesh today on 3-day visit

Visa today (10 August) announced that Stephen Karpin, the regional president – Asia Pacific, will visit Bangladesh from 10-12 August — underscoring Bangladesh’s continued momentum as a digital economy and its importance within Visa’s Asia Pacific strategy.

During the visit, he will be accompanied by Suresh Sethi, Group Country Manager, India and South Asia, Visa, according to a press release issued today.

Karpin will meet with leaders from government, financial institutions, fintechs, merchants, and the broader payments ecosystem to discuss opportunities to accelerate digital commerce, strengthen payment security, and support the next phase of Bangladesh’s digital transformation.

As the Asia Pacific president, Karpin leads Visa’s business across one of the world’s most diverse and fast-evolving regions. He is responsible for advancing Visa’s long-term growth strategy across the region, deepening client partnerships, and driving innovation across digital payments, cross-border commerce, AI, and cybersecurity, read the release.

It said that Bangladesh is rapidly advancing its digital payments landscape through an accelerated adoption of digital financial services, a growing e-commerce sector, and continued investment in financial infrastructure. As consumers and businesses embrace new ways to pay and transact, the country is emerging as one of the region’s most dynamic growth markets.

Karpin’s visit reflects Visa’s longstanding commitment to Bangladesh and its focus on helping consumers, businesses, and economies thrive through trusted payment technology and strong ecosystem partnerships, said the release.
