Travis Barker has opened up about his and wife Kourtney Kardashian’s decision to bring up their miscarriage in his new documentary, Louder Than Fear.
For those unaware, the 50-year-old American musician and songwriter and Kardashian were longtime neighbours before they started their romantic relationship in 2020. They tied the knot in three different ceremonies in 2022 and welcomed their first and only child together, a son named Rocky Thirteen Barker, in November 2023.
During the latest episode of The New York Times’ Popcast, Barker revealed he and Kardashian became vocal about their miscarriage on camera because they want to help those going through the same phase.
Articulating his thoughts, he explained, “I think when there’s things that can benefit people or help people like relate to something, I think that’s always like a green light, especially she’s always trying to do something like that.”
“Our journey of miscarriages and then IVF and it’s like failed, resulting in us having a baby naturally, like I feel like that’s a story that so many people can relate [to],” the First Date hitmaker stated.
When he was asked why they chose to share their experience in his documentary rather than The Kardashians, considering its huge following, Barker clarified that the interview style of his documentary did not create any hindrance for them as they touched on the most devastating experience of their lives.
“The way the documentary happens is through a series of interviews. I’ll say something, and then they’re like, ‘Oh, well tell me more about that.’ And that’s how that came up,” he said.
It is pertinent to mention that in addition to their biological son, Barker and Kourtney Kardashian co-parent a blended family of seven from their previous relationships.
Travis Barker: Louder Than Fear is scheduled to premiere on Hulu and Disney+ on August 13, 2026.
