Slipknot’s James “Jim” Root has finally broken his silence on a report that Sid Wilson had been removed from the band after 28 years.
TMZ reported on Friday, July 31, that DJ and keyboardist Wilson was kicked out of the nu-metal group for good earlier that day. This decision by Slipknot ended his 28-year run with the band.
They stated that what led to Wilson’s dismissal from the band he worked with for almost three decades is still unclear.
Later the same day, Root took to his Instagram Stories and posted a cryptic message, which was soundtracked by the band’s 2008 song, Til We Die, hinting at the drama the outlet reported.
The 54-year-old guitarist reported, “Don’t believe everything you read. Stop. Think. Take a breath. Sit with it for awhile. Maybe. Just maybe even wait until there’s more information.”
It is pertinent to mention that Wilson joined Slipknot in 1998 just before the band dropped its self-titled debut record.
