Bangladesh is likely to experience widespread rain and thunderstorms over the next three days as active monsoon conditions continue to influence the country’s weather.
The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) said the monsoon will remain active over Bangladesh during the period, causing widespread rainfall with occasional gusty winds.
The prevailing weather pattern is expected to continue beyond the three-day outlook, with rainfall activity likely to persist across the country.
The BMD advised people, especially those living in low-lying and flood-prone areas, to remain alert to updated weather forecasts and take necessary precautions during heavy rain and thunderstorms.
According to the 120-hour weather bulletin issued by the BMD, light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds are likely across much of the country, with moderately heavy rainfall expected in several areas.
On 1 August, rain and thundershowers are likely at many places in Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, while Rajshahi and Khulna divisions may receive rainfall at a few places. Moderately heavy rainfall is likely in parts of the country.
Day temperatures may rise slightly, while night temperatures are expected to remain nearly unchanged.
On 2 August, rainfall activity is expected to continue. Many areas in Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions are likely to experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers, while Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Dhaka divisions may receive showers at a few places. Isolated areas may witness moderately heavy rainfall.
Day temperatures are expected to remain almost unchanged, while night temperatures may rise slightly.
On 3 August, the wet spell is likely to become more widespread, with rain and thunderstorms expected at most places in the Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions. Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram, and Dhaka divisions may also experience showers at several locations.
Moderately heavy rainfall is likely in parts of the country, while both day and night temperatures are expected to remain largely unchanged.
