Newly appointed Chief of Naval Staff Vice Admiral Khondkar Misbah-Ul-Azim met Prime Minister Tarique Rahman at the Prime Minister’s Office today (25 July).
During the meeting, they discussed maritime security, the modernisation of the Bangladesh Navy, the strengthening of its professional capabilities, and other related issues, according to a press release issued by the Prime Minister’s Press Wing.
The prime minister praised the Bangladesh Navy’s professionalism and its role in safeguarding the country’s sovereignty, the release said.
He also wished the new navy chief success in his new role, it added.
Vice Admiral Khondkar Misbah-Ul-Azim expressed his gratitude to the prime minister.
