During a Senate Appropriations Committee hearing on Tuesday, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said that the latest estimate for the cost of the Iran war had reached $37.5 billion, up from around $29 billion in early May. He appeared before the committee to request an additional $70 billion to fund the war, as well as to replenish weapons stockpiles.
