The Election Commission (EC) will publish the final list of polling centres on 27 August for the upcoming local government elections, including city corporations, municipalities, upazila parishads, and union parishads.
The information was revealed in a letter sent to district election officers signed by EC Senior Assistant Secretary (Election Support-3) Md Rashid Mia.
According to the letter, the EC has instructed the authorities concerned to prepare the final list after publishing a draft, receiving claims and objections, and disposing of them in line with the existing guidelines.
The commission will publish the draft list of polling centres on 10 August, while the deadline for filing claims and objections has been set for 18 August.
It will dispose of all claims and objections by 23 August before publishing the final list on 27 August.
The letter also instructed the authorities concerned to complete all necessary work in accordance with the schedule and the Polling Centre Establishment Guidelines and submit the final list to the Election Support-3 Wing through the respective regional election officers.
