The Power Division has opened a dedicated control room to ensure uninterrupted electricity services across the country amid the ongoing flood situation, directing officials to respond immediately to any disruption in power supply.
According to an official order issued yesterday (12 July), the control room has been set up on the 14th floor of Bidyut Bhaban at 1, Nawab Abdul Gani Road in Dhaka’s Ramna.
The control room will remain operational every day, including government holidays, from 7:00am to 9:00pm.
Power consumers and stakeholders can contact the control room through telephone number 02-47120309 or mobile number 01739000293 for assistance.
The Power Division said emergency communication through the designated mobile phone will continue beyond the scheduled operating hours whenever necessary.
The initiative has been taken to ensure uninterrupted customer service and strengthen monitoring of the country’s electricity distribution system during the flood situation.
Officials assigned to the control room have been instructed to immediately coordinate with focal point officers of electricity distribution utilities and companies whenever any disruption in power supply is reported and take prompt measures to restore services. They have also been directed to inform higher authorities whenever necessary.
The order further instructed officials to maintain regular communication with the Power Division’s integrated customer service hotline, 16999, to facilitate a swift response to consumer complaints.
It also said that if any designated official is unable to perform duty on an assigned day due to unavoidable circumstances, he or she must arrange a replacement to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the control room.
