Late One Direction alum’s girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, was dumped by her new boyfriend after she constantly compared him to the singer-songwriter.
Kate, who had been dating Liam for two years at the time of his death in 2024, recently revealed that she started dating again.
However, in a recent update, she unveiled that the new man broke up with her after he did not “hit all the check marks.”
She said on her TikTok, “Dating after losing somebody that you genuinely thought you were gonna spend the rest of your life with is really tough because I physically look for Liam in every single guy that I meet.”
Kate continued, “If they don’t hit all the check marks, I tend to either back away or almost resent this person. And it’s so crazy.”
Sharing about her new romance, whom she nicknamed “Joe”, her now-ex, Kate noted, “Joe was really sweet and I feel like he was kind of like a lot of things that I wanted in a guy. He’s super low key so he doesn’t have any social media, which I actually really liked. I met his family, he took me on trips. Things were going really well, really quick.”
But Kate admitted she “f***** up” after she found herself resenting him when his actions did not meet the way Liam would have acted.
“He texted me yesterday and told me that we should go our separate ways because it’s just too much. And I understand,” she shared. “I feel sad because I don’t like losing people, and I feel like, especially in the beginning of a situationship, it’s so fun. And you’re so excited to see where it goes.”
This came three months after Kate publicly revealed that she is finally dating someone after Liam’s tragic death.
Liam passed away after a fatal fall from a multi-story building back in October 2024. He was 31.
