One person died from dengue in the country in the last 24 hours, while 113 new patients were admitted to hospitals during the same period, according to the latest dengue situation report.
The information was disclosed in a press release issued today (16 June) by the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
With the latest fatality, the total number of dengue-related deaths this year has risen to seven.
Among the 113 newly hospitalised patients, 27 were reported from Barishal division, 18 from Chattogram division, 16 from Dhaka division, 31 from Khulna division, two from Mymensingh division and three from Sylhet division – all outside the respective city corporation areas.
In the capital, two new patients were admitted under Dhaka North City Corporation, while 14 were reported under Dhaka South City Corporation.
During the same 24-hour period, 90 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals, taking the total number of recoveries this year to 4,137.
The total number of dengue cases recorded in the country so far this year now stands at 4,412.
According to DGHS data, Bangladesh reported a total of 102,861 dengue cases and 413 dengue-related deaths in 2025.
In 2024, the country recorded 101,214 dengue infections and 575 deaths from the mosquito-borne disease.
