Seven journalists from different media outlets received the Bangladesh Agro-Industry Media Award 2025 for their reporting on the country’s agriculture and agro-processing sectors.
Information and Broadcasting Adviser Zahir Uddin Swapon handed over the awards at a ceremony held today (6 June) at the MCCI Conference Room in Gulshan.
The award winners were selected by a three-member jury board based on reports published in 2025.
In the print category, the award recipients were Sukanta Halder of The Daily Star, Rafiqul Islam and M Munir Hossain of The Daily Sun.
In television journalism, Delwar Hossain Dolon of Channel 24 and Rakib Hossain of Ekattor TV received the award.
Nazmul Hossain of Jago News24 and Shariful Rukun of Ekushey Patrika were honoured in the online category.
National Press Club President Hasan Hafiz attended the event as a special guest.
The award was introduced for the first time by PRAN Group to recognise journalists contributing to public understanding of agriculture and agro-processing industries.
Speaking at the event, Swapon praised the initiative, saying stronger collaboration between the media and the agro-processing sector would contribute to national development.
PRAN Group Managing Director Elias Mridha said the award aimed to encourage more in-depth reporting on the opportunities and challenges facing Bangladesh’s agro-processing industry.
He added that the award programme would continue in the coming years.
