Stocks opened higher today (1 June) after a seven-day Eid holiday.
By 10:20am, the benchmark DSEX index had risen 23 points to 5,359, while the blue-chip DS30 index gained 5 points to reach 2,036.
Among the traded stocks, 215 advanced, 62 declined and 87 remained unchanged.
Turnover during the session stood at Tk97 crore.
Nahee Aluminium emerged as the most traded stock, followed by BBS Cables and NCC Bank.
Non-operating companies dominated the gainers’ chart, with Meghna PET topping the list, followed by Emerald Oil and Rung Hai Knitting.
International Leasing, Phoenix Finance and FAS Finance were the top losers during the session.
