Police have submitted a chargesheet to the court accusing Sohel Rana and his wife Swapna Akhter in connection with the rape and subsequent murder of a minor girl, Ramisa Akhter, in the capital’s Pallabi area.
Pallabi Police Station Sub-Inspector Ohiduzzaman, the investigating officer of the case, submitted the chargesheet to the prosecution department today (24 May).
The charge sheet will be presented before the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Ashraful Haq, confirmed SI Abul Kalam Azad of the prosecution department.
“The allegations of rape and subsequent murder against Sohel Rana, and the allegation of abetting the crime against his wife Swapna, have been proven during the investigation,” said SI Ohiduzzaman.
