A pink-coloured buffalo from Bangladesh’s Narayanganj has attracted international media attention after going viral on social media ahead of Eid-ul-Adha.
As photos and videos of the animal spread online, several global media outlets covered the story from different angles, focusing on its unusual appearance, growing popularity and expected sacrifice during Eid.
Reuters published the story under the headline, “Bangladesh’s rare ‘Donald Trump’ buffalo becomes Eid sensation,” highlighting the public interest surrounding the animal.
UK-based The Telegraph focused on its possible Eid fate with the headline, “Bangladesh to sacrifice ‘Donald Trump’ the albino bull.”
India’s Hindustan Times described the buffalo as a viral sensation and reported that farm owners characterised it as calm by nature.
Meanwhile, The Sunday Guardian reported on the buffalo’s popularity while noting that it is expected to be sacrificed during Eid-ul-Adha.
NDTV highlighted the buffalo’s resemblance to US President Donald Trump and wrote that the rare animal had stolen the spotlight in Bangladesh.
