BNP Chairperson Tarique Rahman has been allocated the sheaf of paddy symbol for the Bogura-6 (Sadar) constituency in the 13th nation election.
The symbol was formally handed over around 11:30am today (21 January) by District Returning Officer and Bogura Deputy Commissioner Md Toufiqul Rahman. On behalf of Tarique Rahman, Bogura District BNP President Rezaul Karim Badsha received the election symbol.
A total of five valid candidates in the Bogura-6 constituency have been allocated symbols. Abdullah Al Waki of the Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal received the plough symbol, Abu Numan Md Mamunur Rashid of Islami Andolon Bangladesh was allotted the hand fan symbol, Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Abidur Rahman Sohel received the scales symbol, while Dilruba Nuri, nominated by the Bangladesh Samajtantrik Dal, was allocated the ladder symbol.
Earlier in the day, at around 10am, a symbol allocation programme for all seven parliamentary constituencies in Bogura district was held at the district administration’s conference room.
According to the district returning officer’s office, Bogura district has a total of 2,981,940 voters. Of them, 454,043 voters are registered in the Bogura Sadar constituency, including 222,796 male voters, 231,237 female voters, and 10 voters from the hijra community.
