Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has announced that 9,000 technical education teachers across the country will be provided with tabs within the next 180 days.
“As part of implementing the election manifesto, steps have been taken to modernise technical education and strengthen digital competency,” Tarique said during the question-and-answer session at the parliament today (1 April).
Under this initiative, tabs will be distributed to 9,000 teachers within 180 days, he added.
The prime minister also mentioned that there are plans to establish 3,832 multimedia classrooms to strengthen digital infrastructure in the education sector.
Additionally, 172 students will be brought under Japanese and Italian language training programmes to boost technical and vocational skills, Tarique added.
The prime minister also said that free Wi-Fi connectivity will be provided to 418 technical and madrasah educational institutions across the country.
Regarding programmes for children, he added that more than 200,000 students at the upazila level have already received free school uniforms and shoes, and the initiative will soon be expanded to cover all primary-level students nationwide.
